Challenges

As the site was located beside a public car park lobby which was in operation at the time of installation, Hurst faced the challenge of ensuring public safety whilst minimising disruption to services throughout the process.

Time management was critical due to the long lead times for the bespoke design elements. Hurst meticulously managed the project, ensuring that retail operations remained uninterrupted and that the custom made items were seamlessly incorporated into the timeline.

Solution

Prioritising user safety, Hurst ensured all electrical services were relocated out of the reach of children. New colour-changing, mood lighting was installed to enhance the sensory experience, alongside a fresh air supply.

Acoustic enhancements to the walls and ceilings improved sound insulation, shielding the room from the distractions of a busy shopping centre. Meanwhile, bespoke play equipment maximised the space, ensuring every inch of the space offered engaging activity.
