Work has recently been completed on Europe’s tallest modular tower in Croydon and Hurst are very happy to have played their part. Working alongside a leading London contractor, Hurst Joinery Projects Ltd delivered a bespoke joinery package as part of the fit out of the 44-storey and 38-storey towers.

101 George Street is a 135 metre high example of the pioneering modular building technology that can be used to construct fully functioning buildings in a fraction of the time it would take to build using traditional methods. The majority of the fit out of each module, including kitchen and bathroom plumbing and electrics, is in place before the module reaches site, where it then takes an estimated 12 man-hours to complete installation.

Comprising of 1500 modules, 101 George Street provides 546 new homes, built to rent, as well as a range of communal spaces for residents including music and screening room, rooftop gym, pet spa, flexible workspaces (with complimentary coffee stations) and private dining area with fully equipped kitchen.

Hurst manufactured and installed joinery elements for these social areas, featuring new reception desk, teapoints within reception and workspaces, bespoke storage units and shelving, booth seating wall, dog wash and wall panelling to music room.
